Hospitals

In Japan, there are two types of hospitals: general hospitals (large hospitals) and clinics or medical practitioners.
If you feel sick, go to a clinic or medical practitioner that is close to where you live.

The hospitals are closed on Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and Obon holidays.
On holidays, go to a hospital on holiday duty.

Medical expenses are incurred when seeking a medical advice at a hospital.
The amount of medical expenses varies by your age and income.
