When getting pregnant

1.Apply at the counter of the municipal office

When you find out that you carry a baby in a hospital, etc., report your pregnancy at the counter of the municipal office.
Upon application, you will be given the Maternal and Child Health Handbook and other items necessary during pregnancy (including documents called “Health Guide for Mother and Child” that you will need to receive the maternity checkup.

Maternal and Child Health Handbook

Maternal and Child Health Handbook is used to record your health condition during your pregnancy to childbirth, and after birth for health management of the other and baby.
Make sure to take the Maternal and Child Health Handbook whenever you go to the hospital.

2.Prenatal and Postpartum checkup

When you get pregnant, go to the hospital and go through the prenatal checkup to check your physical condition.
Coupons for prenatal checkup and dental examination are enclosed in the “Health Guide for Mother and Child”.
You may go through 17 health checkups before one month after delivery
15 checkups while you carry a baby, and 2 checkups after delivery.
In addition to prenatal and postpartum checkups, various assistance and help such as health consultations are available.

3.“Daddy and Mommy Class”

The class teaches mothers-to-be and fathers-to-be what they need to know to have and raise a baby.
In the class, you can make friends with people who will have babies around the same time.
